Common Issues & Troubleshooting

Solutions to the most common STBemu problems

❓ App won't install (Unknown App error)

Solution:

  1. Go to Settings → Apps & Games → Unknown Apps
  2. Toggle the permission ON for your file manager
  3. Try installing the APK again
  4. If still failing, clear app cache: Settings → Apps → File Manager → Clear Cache
  5. Restart your device and retry

❓ App keeps crashing or closing

Solution:

  1. Clear data: Settings → Apps → STBemu → Clear Cache & Clear Data
  2. Reinstall: Uninstall completely, restart device, reinstall APK
  3. Free up RAM: Close background apps, ensure 2GB+ free RAM
  4. Update Android: Check Settings → System Updates
  5. Try the Free version first (less resource-intensive)

❓ No streams loading / Portal not connecting

Solution:

  1. Check internet: Ensure WiFi/4G is stable (5+ Mbps)
  2. Verify portal details: Check URL, username, password are correct
  3. Stalker/Ministra only: STBemu supports Stalker & Ministra portals only (not M3U/Xtream)
  4. Test portal: Verify the portal works in another player
  5. Restart the app and try again

❓ Streams buffering or poor video quality

Solution:

  1. Check speed: Use speedtest.net (need 10+ Mbps for HD)
  2. Switch to WiFi: 4G can be unstable; WiFi 5GHz recommended
  3. Reduce quality: In app settings, select lower resolution temporarily
  4. Close background apps: Stop other apps consuming bandwidth
  5. Restart WiFi router: Power off for 10 seconds, power back on
  6. Contact your IPTV provider if issue persists

❓ Audio not working / No sound

Solution:

  1. Check volume: Ensure device volume is up & not on mute
  2. Check HDMI/Speaker: Verify speaker/soundbar is connected & powered on
  3. In-app settings: Open STBemu Settings → Audio → Select correct audio track
  4. Change player: In app, try VLC or another player instead of ExoPlayer
  5. Restart stream: Stop & play again; audio syncs on restart
  6. Update app to latest version

❓ Subtitles not showing / Wrong language

Solution:

  1. Enable subtitles: During playback, tap subtitle icon (CC button)
  2. Select language: Choose from available subtitle tracks
  3. Check stream: Not all streams have subtitles; depends on provider
  4. Adjust size: Settings → Subtitle Settings → Font size
  5. Try different player (ExoPlayer vs VLC) for compatibility

❓ "Invalid credentials" error

Solution:

  1. Double-check credentials: Verify username & password are correct (case-sensitive)
  2. Check portal URL: Ensure correct server address (with http:// or https://)
  3. Portal status: Test in browser to confirm portal is online
  4. Account active: Verify your subscription is active & not expired
  5. Reboot app: Close completely & reopen STBemu
  6. Contact your IPTV provider to verify login details

❓ Ads appearing in Free version

  1. This is normal: Ads are built into the Free version
  2. Remove ads: Upgrade to Pro version ($5.49 one-time) for ad-free experience

Workaround Method:

  1. Connect Android Phone running STBemu
  2. Use SmartThings cast feature
  3. Or use HDMI cable to connect Android box
  4. Alternatively: use PC with HDMI output
  5. Stream STBemu content to Samsung TV

Limitations:

  • ❌ No native STBemu app
  • ❌ Tizen OS not supported
  • ❌ Cannot sideload directly
  • ❌ Requires external device
  • ⚠️ Works via casting only

⚠️ Important: Samsung Smart TVs use Tizen OS, not Android. No direct app installation possible. Use an Android phone/box connected via HDMI or casting for STBemu streaming.

Workaround Method:

  1. Set up Android Phone/Box with STBemu
  2. Connect via WiFi to LG TV (AirPlay/Miracast)
  3. Or use HDMI connection to Android device
  4. Stream from phone to LG TV screen
  5. Control via mobile remote app

Limitations:

  • ❌ webOS platform incompatible
  • ❌ Cannot install APK directly
  • ❌ No native app available
  • ❌ Casting may lose quality
  • ⚠️ HDMI connection recommended

⚠️ Important: LG TVs use webOS, not Android. Direct installation impossible. Best method: Android phone/box connected via HDMI cable for stable, lag-free streaming.

Current Workarounds:

  1. Use Android device + AirPlay to cast
  2. Connect Android phone via USB to Apple TV
  3. Use web-based IPTV player on Safari
  4. Jailbreak option (advanced, risky)
  5. ⏳ Waiting for official iOS app

Limitations:

  • ❌ No official iOS app
  • ❌ No TestFlight beta yet
  • ❌ No sideloading via App Store
  • ❌ iOS restrictions prevent APK
  • ❌ Jailbreak voids warranty

⚠️ Status: STBemu is Android-only. iOS support is NOT available and not officially planned. Use an Android phone/tablet alongside your iPhone for IPTV streaming. We're monitoring iOS demand for future consideration.
